Diocesan Pilgrimage 2015

Report by Parish Pilgrims

 

 

Some seven parishioners joined the Pilgrimage this year along with seven hundred or so others from across the Diocese.  Always enjoyable and often moving, this year was no exception.

 

 

Some rain early on was  actually beneficial as it kept us from overheating.

   

   

 

 

Mgr Chris Lightbound provided one of the highlights at the Opening Catechesis, giving an absorbing reflection on his own formation in the faith.

History of the Parish

 

The parish of St Winefride's has been well St Winefridesdocumented and the information here is taken from an extremely informative leaflet written by Miss Virginia Bowes and a more modern view of the changes in the church written by Judy Howard taking in the rennovations started in 1993.
